Us Setting up a Form for You

Introduction

Email forms allow the visitor to a website to fill data into a form, which can then be sent to a particular email address.  Generally, a form works by means of what is called a "cgi script".  For the new user, designing a cgi script can be quite difficult.  It is best for such users to find scripts that already exist.

Insiteweb has made available to our users two different cgi scripts on our system which enable the implementation of email forms.  The names of these two scripts are cgiemail and webform.cgi.  You will find more information on each of these below, along with links to the respective tutorials.

Cgiemail

Setting up a form using cgiemail is slightly more complex than doing so using webform.cgi.  The advantage that cgiemail has over webform.cgi is that you can control the format of the email message sent to you.

The process involves inserting HTML code into the page with the form on it, as well as designing a text template for the email message.  Please click here for the cgiemail tutorial itself.

Webform.cgi

Setting up a form using webform.cgi is easier than doing so using cgiemail because webform.cgi does not require you to design a text template.  Please click here for the webform.cgi tutorial itself.

Us Setting up a Form for You

Insiteweb can setup a form for you for a one-time $30 fee. Each form would entail such a one-time fee. You would need to specify:

Please note that our work would entail the basic structure of the form itself rather than the aesthetic design of the page. The customer would be responsible for the aesthetics, after the form is setup. We will, of course, give the form an organized design.
