Fixing the Outlook SMTP Error

Outlook '97, '98 and Express sometimes develop an error on sending out email
from Windows '95 machines. Microsoft recommends that you uninstall and
re-install the Windows Messaging Component, you will need your Windows '95
installation CD-ROM:

  1.   Click on your "Start" button
  2.   Click on "Settings"
  3.   Click on "Control Panel"
  4.   Double-click on "Add/Remove Programs"
  5.   Click on the "Windows Setup" tab
  6.   Scroll down the list of installed components
  7.   Uncheck the "Windows Messaging" checkbox by clicking on it
  8.   Click on "Apply"
  9.   Reboot your computer
  10.   After reboot follow steps 1 through 6 again
  11.   Check the "Windows Messaging" checkbox by clicking on it
  12.   Click on "Apply"
  13.   Reboot your computer

If you continue to experience difficulty after following these steps, we
recommend contacting Microsoft Tech Support or trying another email
program. We recommend the following:

TUCOWS has a variety of cheap and/or free mail programs.
Netscape has a mail client built in.
