Publishing your site to the FrontPage server
| This procedure is for those who create their site offline and need to upload from their local web or those who are publishing a finished site, created on a local computer. |
If you do not have your website available on your PC but the website is already on the web server you may edit your website from the web server, however this is not recommended, click here for a tutorial. |
Be sure that you are connected to the Internet.
Open the FrontPage Explorer and open your web. This is assuming that you have already created a Web site on your local computer.
In the FrontPage Explorer, click "FILE" (near the top left corner) and then select Publish FrontPage Web (As seen below).
Enter your domain name in the "destination Web Server" box and hit OK. Remember, you are copying files from your local web to your Insiteweb account. If you get an error like: "cannot copy a web to itself", you probably need to use the "Live Edit" feature.
Enter your Login ID and Password when prompted and hit OK. This will prompt FrontPage to check and make sure that the site administrator is making the requested addition. Also, this will begin the upload process. If you have a large site, it will take several minutes, and maybe even a couple of hours.
